2007 IWA President - Paul Leone
In accordance with the Constitution, the presidency rotates annually. As the IWA enters its seventh year, Paul Leone, Chairman of the Raceboard Class, takes over the helm. Paul, still an active racer, is an ardent supporter of the work of the IWA and will bring renewed energy to the leadership position in 2007.

Speed Class joins IWA
The Speed Class becomes the 7th member class of the International Windsurfing Association


ISAF's Centenary Year!
2007 marks the Centenary year of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), the world governing body for the sport of sailing. In celebration of this milestone in ISAF’s history, the year will be marked by events around the world, on and off the water that celebrate sailing and 100 years of ISAF.

Annual National Association Class Subscriptions
Invoices have been circulated via e-mail to National Associations and payment is DUE NOW. Thank you to those NA's who have paid promptly. A reminder to those who have yet to respond, in cases of non-payment of National Class Membership fees, competitors at championship events will be charged individual membership fees or, worse, entry may be refused.

FW World ranking system and IFCA World Ranking Calendar
Every paid-up National FW Association has the right to add ONE ‘international’ (OPEN) event which will count to the FW World ranking system

Paid-up MNA's are invited to nominate one Slalom event (from their national calendar) to be included on the "IFCA World Ranking Calendar"

Bids invited for 2009/2010 Championships
If you would like to host a class World and / or Continental Championship, for the period 2009 -2010 and you are an established event organizer, we would like to hear from you.


No 2007 IWA Yearbook
The IWA Executive have decided not to publish the IWA yearbook in hard copy. However, Class amendments will be available soon to download in pdf form from the IWA website so that that those who wish to maintain their paper copies may print off and add to their existing yearbook.

Formula Windsurfing Oceanic’s & Australian Nationals + Slalom Nationals 2007

Jesper Vesterstrom (DEN 111) returned from a long period of inactivity due to injury to claim maximum world ranking points from the 2007 Oceanic Championships, Perth, WA. Sean O'Brien (AUS 120) is this year's Oceanic and National (AUS) Formula Champion.
