Peter Krimbacher elected President of the IWA for 2004
At a meeting of the IWA Executive Committee on Saturday 10 January, Peter Krimbacher was unanimously elected IWA President for the coming year. Peter, representing the MJOD Class, is Chairman of Windsurfing Austria which manages FW, Funboard, Raceboard, IMCO and the MJOD in his country.

2004 Windsurfing Evaluation Trials - Invitation to Brands and MNAs
Following the hugely successful first part of the Olympic Windsurfing Equipment Evaluation Event in Cadiz in September 2003, the application form for designs to be entered into the second phase, in Torbole, Italy from 3-8 May 2004, is now online: http://www.sailing.org/technical/App_Windsurfing04.pdf
Application Forms must be returned to the ISAF Secretariat by 1 February at the very latest.

As well as the design application form, the application form for Member National Authorities who wish to send sailors to take part in the Evaluation Event is also available online: http://www.sailing.org/Article_content.asp?ArticleID=6012
MNA Application Forms should also be submitted by 1 February 2004.

IFCA and FW Announce four New Windsurfing Tours for 2004
Under the leadership and guidance of the International Windsurf Association (IWA), which provides support services to the ISAF Windsurf Classes, the International Funboard Class and the International Formula Class, representing respectively Freestyle, Slalom and Course racing, have joined forces with the following agencies: a) Choppy Water Event Management GmbH, To manage and promote two EuroCup tours. One for Slalom and one for FW Racing; b) DMG Marketing Services GmbH, To manage and promote the European Freestyle Pro-Tour; and c) Destination Marketing International (DMI), To manage and promote the two Grand Prix tours. One for Slalom and one for FW Racing; both encompassing events worldwide.

IFCA is serious about developing freestyle talent
The International Funboard Class has got together with DMG Marketing Services GmbH and Positive Lines GmbH to create the 2004 European Freestyle Pro-Tour by putting together more than 10 events with a total of more than €uro 100,000 of prize money.

Revised version of Appendix B very close to completion
In attempting this mammoth task our aim has been and still is to ensure that the ISAF Racing Rules book contains a windsurfing appendix covering each discipline and format of windsurfing in a concise and clear fashion.


Aloha Class - Special Meeting
At a meeting of the Aloha Class Association during the Schroders London Boat Show members re affirmed their commitment to the development of Junior racing. The Class Chairman, Marc Cardon (FRA), stated that the Class has an important role in the future development of the sport. Guy Chilvers (Bic Sport), Manufacturers representative, agreed to explore with other Committee members the available options for the future development of the class. The following were also co-opted to the Committee to enhance this work - Marco Rossi (ITA), Helen Cartwright (GBR ) and Deborah Powell (ESP). After a gale force start to their series, today's conclusion was a 'breeze' for the Formula Windsurfers Championship, Steve ALLEN (AUS) clean-sweeping to win the title 6-0 at the Sail Melbourne International Regatta.

Reminder - Class fees for 2004 and Class Surveys
Invoices for National Association Class Fees 2004 were circulated on 3 December. Payment is due by 1 January 2004. Please be sure to complete and return the Questionnaires included. Contact details from this are included in the IWA Yearbook and on the IWA Website. It is important to keep this information up-to-date. We have added a "National Associations Champions 2003" section to help us to promote European and World Championships. Also we would be pleased to know of any events where you would welcome competitors from outside your country. Thank you to those Associations who have responded promptly.
