Germany selects BIC Techno 293 One Design as official Youth Board
Posted On:  03/03/2005
Last weekend the "Jugendseglertreff" (Youth Sailing Conference) of the German Sailing Association (DSV) selected the BIC Techno 293 One Design as official Youth Board from 2006 to 2009. After intensive discussion the BIC Techno 293 One Design was voted with an overwhelming majority. The “Jugendseglertreff” confirmed the decision of the German Windsurfing Association (DWSV) who was supporting the introduction of the board since autumn 2004.

The „Jugendseglertreff“ in Halle (Germany) gave a clear starting signal for the windsurfing sport. Together with France Germany is taking the lead of the development to introduce the BIC Techno 293 One Design as international Youth Board. Several other countries are joining this movement as well. So in a short time the new board should be well established.

An attractive regatta calendar will be offered already in the season 2005 by the DWSV. The highlight will be the “Aloha-Finale” at the Tenderingsee from September 3rd to 4th. This will also be the first unofficial German Championships for the new equipment. The first official German Championships are planned for 2006. Additionally German competitors will be sent to the World Championships in Sopot (Poland) in August 2005.

The German Windsurfing Association (DWSV) is supporting the introduction of the new Youth Board with the organization of a special limited order. With this order the regional sailing associations, clubs, parents and competitors can buy the equipment at special conditions until March 15th. Youth Competitors who are competing with the BIC Techno 293 One Design will get their entry fee refunded for all DWSV ranking regattas in 2005.
