Curacao prepares for the IFCA JYM Slalom Worlds

The 2011 IFCA Junior, Youth & Masters Slalom World Championship will take place on the beautiful island of Curacao. The event will be hosted by the organisers of the Curacao Challenge - a windsurfing competition now in its third year, set up with the aim growing into a world renowned event.

Curacao is situated in the southern Caribbean Sea, off the Venezuelan coast. The country of Curacao which includes the main island plus the small, uninhabited island of Klein Curacao ("Little Curacao"), is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its capital is Willemstad. Curacao is the largest and most populous of the three ABC islands (for Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao) of the Lesser Antilles, specifically the Leeward Antilles.

How to get to Curacao?

Curacao may be a very relaxed place, but it surely isn't behind the times! They have a modern international airport served by a number of airlines. Connections can be made to any part of the world. The Curacao International Airport boasts the longest runway in the Caribbean, capable of handling almost any type of aircraft including jumbo jets.
