Oxbow Slalom World Championships 2008
Posted On:  11/10/2008 12:45:16 PM
4-10 January 2009, Big Bay Capetown, South Africa

After the cancellation of the Slalom Worlds originally scheduled for Portugal, the IFCA executive worked hard to find a substitute. We are now finalising an agreement with the organisers of the "Big Bay Classic Slalom and Wave" event in Capetown to recognise the slalom part of the event as the 2008 IFCA Slalom World Championships.

Winds are known to be very strong in January in Big Bay. We are joining an established and succesful event, with a good track record of organising Slalom and Wave on that location and at that time. A small amount of prize money will be distributed.

The maximum number of Men is fixed at 64 and women at 16. Places will be allocated according to the IFCA Championship Rules, the contract with Windsurfing Africa, and the current IFCA World Ranking.

We will be publishing the Notice of Race within a few days - so "stay tuned".
