A Smooth Breeze for a Smooth Start
Posted On:  29/04/2017 11:45:04

The Foiling Discipline was first to hit the water at the 2017 IFCA Grand Prix Series Premier in Neusiedl am See, Austria.   After 2 back-to-back races the conditions became unsuitable to continue and both foil and slalom sailors were released for the day due to the poor conditions.

Top 5 after 2 Races of Wind Foiling:
Hydrofoil Race 1 & 2 :

1. Amado Vrieswijk NB-20
2. Steven Van Broeckhoven BEL-72
3. Jimmy Thieme FRA-888
4. Eric Thieme FRA-808
5. Thomas Bohn AUT-4

Q&A with Amado Vrieswijk

First impressions of the sailing conditions: "Cold"
The feeling to wind foil in Lake Neusiedl: " The same as on the ocean."
Competitions: "It was fun and I enjoyed the first 2 heats in my first Hydro foiling competition."
Tonight: "I am going to bed early as we have an early start for the Slalom races tomorrow."
Tomorrow: "I look forward to compete in the slalom races, it will be my first time racing in Austria and I will give my best. I have competed on several IFCA events before, but its always interesting with the Class Racing Rules."

Tomorrow (Saturday) skippers meeting is scheduled for 07:30, an early start for the slalom competitors with better winds predicted for the first few hours of the second competition day.
