With 10 bullets in the 15 race World Championship series, Ivan Pastor, the Spanish Olympian, took the 2016 Raceboard World title and the gold medal.  On receiving his title he offered "Congratulations to the organisation for this amazing championship and thanks to all the competitors."......( more )

A light Mediterranean breeze, changes within the rankings and lots of emotions and drama on the final competition day.  Great back to back final races for the men's gold and silver fleets and the women's final race, followed by the Medal races which included the top 10 competitors challenging each other, for the last time in the great show off, in front of the Limassol Nautical Sailing Club in Limassol, Cyprus.......( more )

Competitors' skills were put to the test in light wind conditions on the 5th competition day.  The Youths headed out to challenge the tricky conditions, the day before the Final day, some concerned yet all concentrated.

It was all or nothing, anyone could take the lead after a packed start, as boards glide through the swells towards the upwind mark followed by performing pumping techniques on the downwind leg towards the gate and back up. ......( more )

Unanticipated conditions as the races continue with the final series races on day 4 after yesterday's lay day.  The competitors got to relax, attended a sailing competition rules clinic and entered the fourth day of the championship, well organized and fully recharged, facing the surprising sailing conditions as the wind kept building up throughout the morning with winds from 17 up to 30 knots in some of the gusts. ......( more )

Testing conditions for many in the fleet, indeed "Damn windy conditions for race 11. Plenty of action to be seen!"   Three more races were completed, leaving two further races to round off the final day of the championships.

Two wins to Ivan Pastor and one win to Max Wojcik ensured no change at the top of the overall ranking - Ivan looks to be on course to regain the world title he last won in 2014. ......( more )

Three races completed on day 3 of competition at the 2016 Slake Raceboard World Championships in Manly, Brisbane. 

Ivan Pasteur, Spain, made up for yesterday's drop in form to win all 3 races and to extend his lead over close rival Max Wojcik, Poland.  The "Crazy Spanish" is back in control. ......( more )

One first and two second places in today's 4 races brought reigning World Champion Max Wojcik, from Poland, to within 2 points of Ivan Pastor, from Spain.  However, the star-turn on day 2 of the 2016 Raceboard World Championship, in Brisbane, must go to Bruce Trotter from New Zealand.  His two race wins and a second place moved him up to third place in the overall event ranking.  Not bad going for a grandmaster!......( more )

Three wins from three races puts Ivan Pastor (ESP-7) at the top of the overall rankings at the 2016 Slake Raceboard World Championships hosted by the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, in Manly, Brisbane.  Ivan must be hoping to win his 3rd Raceboard World Title - last taking the honour in Blanes, Spain, 2014.......( more )

The International RS:X Olympic Windsurfing Class Association, a step ahead of all Olympic Sailing Classes with its first Major event after the successful 2016 RIO Olympics, is now looking forward to a week of exciting racing.  The Youths, the next generation, our future Windsurfing Olympic sailors from around the World, take on the challenge in waters of the Eastern Mediterranean on this scheduled World Championship event at the Limassol Nautical Club on the island of Cyprus.  All is set and ready for the upcoming races from the 21st through the 25th of November.......( more )

The Raceboard class has brought its most prestigious event to the shores of Queensland, Australia, for the first time.  Australia has for many years laid claim to one of the largest national Raceboard fleets in the world and its members are regular travellers to Europe to take part in the annual Class World Championships.

Now it is the turn of Windsurfing Queensland and the Australian Windsurfing Association to host the rest of the world at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly, Brisbane.......( more )

There is a new name on the plaque of champions - Alexandre Cousin from France is the 2016 Formula Windsurfing World Champion.

To claim his first world title Alex won 3 of the 7 races completed and posted consistently high results in the others, finishing the championship with the lowest overall score before discarded races.......( more )

Alexandre Cousin put some daylight between himself and the chasing pack on day two of racing at the Azores Formula Windsurfing World Championship.  Two first places and a third place in the final race cemented his position at the top of the leaderboard.......( more )

Event for windsurfers organised by windsurfers. Mother nature helped with the great conditions so all felt lucky just to be here. God bless the new KING and QUEEN of Raceboard !!!
