Windsurf E-News: The First Message
|
| THE FIRST MESSAGE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL WINDSURFING ASSOCIATION |
1st January 2001
Dear Friends,
First of all, a very Happy New Year to you all. As today is a holiday for most of us, this will be just the short message that most of the competitive windsurfing world has been waiting for.
Today, the International Windsurfing Association becomes a reality.
The IWA is a 'one stop shop' for everyone concerned with international racing in the following Windsurfing Classes(Member Classes): Aloha, Formula Windsurfing, Funboard and Raceboard.
IMCO have e.mailed us that they wish to join as well and we hope to formally welcome them into the IWA shortly.
The IWA will provide the daily administrative services that were previously carried out by the Member Classes. Please direct all your future enquiries and information to the IWA office, which will also handle all entries to ISAF sanctioned World and other specified international championships. The Class Association executives will continue their current ISAF obligations with the help of the IWA's office.
Our e.mail address is: info@internationalwindsurfing.com
Our telephone number is: +44 121 433 5799. Fax: +44 121 628 5137
Our address is: 163 West Lane, Hayling Island, Hampshire, PO11 0JW, England.
Our website is under construction and should be launched shortly thanks to the work of our webmaster, Chris Gibson of Advanced Web.
During this early stage, Peter England and Steven Schrier will be manning the office. Once fully established, a full time Executive Secretary will be appointed to run the daily affairs of organisation.
National Associations and MNA's who previously paid annual subscriptions to IBSA and IFCA should note that as from today, a new subscription structure becomes effective and the subscription to the IWA will cover all the Member Classes events and the services that the IWA will offer you. Full details will be sent to MNAs and NAs later this month.
This important initiative has been made possible through the fullest co-operation of IBSA and IFCA, with the help of the PWA and the moral support of the ISAF Executive and various committee members, the Production Board manufacturers, and the many other organisations and individuals throughout the windsurfing world. We thank you all.
Today is the first day of the New Windsurfing Millennium.
Peter England and Steven Schrier
On behalf of the Executives of the IWA and all the Member Classes
