The final day is the 30th, and the prize giving will be at the Estoril Casino, one of the official sponsors. An international jury will be provided and Guincho's waves and golden sand promise a great event. Guincho is 15 kms north of Lisbon with plenty of accommodation in the area.

5. FORMULA WINDSURFING EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS, SOPOT, POLAND.
Full report can be found on the FW Web Site, but sad to say, the minimum 7 knot winds were very short on supply and at times the weather was so cold, hardly anyone even came to the beach. Two races were run and the results are on the Web.
6. BOARD REGISTRATION SYSTEM
There are two levels of Registration, National Racing Approved and Fully Registered.
When a board first goes into production, the manufacturer informs ISAF and the International Measurer by completing some forms. At this point, the board is approved for racing at national events only. These boards cannot be used in international events recognised by the IWA and the International Classes.
When production and distribution reaches a level set by ISAF, the manufacturer completes a final form, which is checked by the International Measurer and the board is approved for international events. Under new guidelines, the mould used by the manufacturer will be subject to inspection.
There is one extra point to note. For World and Continental championships. The manufacturer must prove that the board has been available in a number of countries, at least 60 and 30 days respectively, before the first race.

9. FINALLY..STREET WINDSURFING
This is something we do not recommend for the roads of Italy and Great Britain, but it certainly is a wonderful epic voyage. Robert Torline is halfway on a 3000 kilometre journey between Mexico and Canada, windsurfing along the small country road of the United States. His 4 foot board has pneumatic wheels and a standard windsurf rig. He started at the end of April and aims to finish in the middle of June. Check out: http://www.streetsailing.com/acrossamerica.htm
