4. FUNBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - CAPETOWN WAVE & FREESTYLE - OCT 21 - 27. RACING OCT 28 - 4.
Bloueberg Strand near Capetown is the exciting site for the Funboard World Wave (Freestyle) Championships. After the event is over, the fleet moves up country to Club Mykonos, Langebaan, site of the 1995 very windy IFCA World Racing Championships. There, competitors from the Formula Windsurfing World will be joining the event. South Africa is a great venue for a long winter away from cold Europe. The rate of exchange is very favourable. The notice of race is on the web site. www.windsurfafrica.co.za

5. FORMULA WINDSURFING CLASS/FUNBOARD COURSE RACING BOARDS.
Despite some rumours to the contrary, there are no plans to allow wider boards than 1005mm or longer fins than 70mm in 2002. The Funboard Class rules allows longer fins for national racing but from what we hear, many competitors find a 70cm fin hard work!

6. BOARD REGISTRATION SYSTEM
Under new ISAF board registration rules, boards cannot be approved for International events until 60 days after the manufacturer starts the registration procedure. The manufacturer is obliged to send in the Part I form when production starts and the 60 day period allows for distribution of the first big batch to be completed.
7. NEW PRODUCTION BOARD REGISTRATIONS
The following boards have been Fully Registered. Formula Windsurfing international competitors should check with the FW Class association (Website) to see when they can use newly registered boards in World, Continental and such events as the Euro-Cup.
