Posted On:  18/10/2005
The Hong Kong Windsurfing open will be held at Stanley main beach on Hong Kong Island from 26th to 30th October 2005. NeilPryde is proud to announce that the Open will feature an RS:X division with competitors from Hong Kong, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea and Singapore taking part. The Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong and Neil Pryde Ltd. are delighted to welcome Israeli Gold medallist, Gal Fridman to the event who is favourite to take top honours in the men’s division.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on Wednesday morning followed by a practice race in the afternoon. Weather conditions are predicated to be windy as October is the start of Hong Kong’s Monsoon season. Racing will close on Sunday 30th October with the official Prizegiving that will have Mr. Neil Pryde in attendance.

Mike Gebhardt, former Olympic Silver and Bronze medallist and Neil Pryde RS:X Technical Liasion will be in Hong Kong to continue coaching Gal Fridman whilst helping coach members of the Hong Kong Elite squad. Mike will conduct a Rigging Clinic for all competitors before the practice race and will be on hand throughout the event to lend his expertise.

The Hong Kong Open is organised by the Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong (WAHK) and is support by Hong Kong’s Leisure & Cultural Services Department.
