PWA Tenerife Cancellation

Due to some very unfortunate circumstances, the Tenerife PWA event has had to be cancelled. The Principal Organizer has become seriously ill and as a result the event project has had to be shelved for the time being. Our best wishes go out to the organizers and their families. We hope to bring you better news of the Lanzarote event in the very near future.

After two days of fastmoving indoor action the overall winners of the Samsung Mobile Indoor Windsurfing have collected their trophies in Ghent, Belgium. Before it came to that however, the riders had to give it their all in front of the large crowd of spectators.

From the 29th of April until the 7th of May, the PWA sets up camp at Podersdorf, Austria at the famous Neusiedler See Lake for the start of the battle for the 2006 PWA Freestyle world title. This event also marks a historic collaboration with the EFPT, as it counts towards the European ranking as well. ......( more)

The PWA 2006 season has officially been opened with the London Boat Show, providing thousands of spectators with three days of indoor windsurfing fireworks. With each day featuring three disciplines in the form of freestyle, slalom and the infamous jumping contest, the third edition of the PWA London indoor competition was another action packed world cup event kicking off the 2006 PWA World Tour.

PWA Almanarre World Cup Cancelled

The PWA has just been informed by the Hyeres Windsurfing Organisation, that the 2005 Almanarre Hyeres PWA World Cup has been cancelled due to a lack of funding. HWO (the event organisers) had hoped to secure additional funding from local support but unfortunately sufficient investment was not forthcoming. Both the PWA and HWO will be continuing to work on the event and hope to have the event back on the calendar for 2006.

In a major step for windsurfing, global drinks brand Nestea have confirmed their status as Title Sponsor of the PWA Racing World Tour. Following sponsorship by the blue chip brand in a deal secured by Proteus Sports Limited for an undisclosed sum, the Racing Tour will now be known as the Nestea PWA World Windsurf Racing Tour. Tuesday December 17, 2002 - The PWA freestyle finals concluded in spectacular fashion yesterday afternoon after Tonki Frans (Gaastra, AHD) closed out the event with his final move the Chacho in the mens' third round final. Despite the best efforts of the PWA management, due to economic constraints within Brazil, the organisers of the Ceara Wind Formula Racing contest have not been able to reach the minimum requirements to host a PWA event. The event will therefore not take place as part of the PWA Formula Racing World Cup. This will obviously be a blow to many Racers who had hoped to compete in Brazil but without the necessary guaranteed standards for PWA members, it was not possible to move forward. 201 Ranking Points Separate Top 3 Sailors - Saturday October 12 2002 - Between December 11th-18th the battle for the PWA overall freestyle champion will be decided at the closing event of the year on the sun drenched beaches of Bonaire in the Caribbean. Staszewska Dominates And Pritchard Sneaks In! Sunday September 29 2002 - Apart from the slight hiccups in race one and eight, it was a perfect score of 5.6 points for reigning and now undefeated women’s formula class world champion Dorota Staszewska.
