| In 10 days in the Engadine again will all be about water sports. The best windsurfers and kiters of the world meet from August 13th to 21st on the occasion of the Stimorol Engadinwind in Silvaplana, show their outstanding abilities and guarantee an unforgettable spectacle of water sports. The kick off is on August 13th with the legendary Engadine Surf marathon. As favourites at the 28th holding of the longest surf regatta worldwide are placed Micah Buzianis USA, the new Slalom World Champion and Finian Maynard, British Virgin Islands, the last year's winner and world's fastest man on the surfboard. Thereafter the European Cup in the speed disciplines is taking place and from the middle of the week the spectators can expect the highlight of the event with the IFCA Freestyle World Championships. The major favourite of the women is Karin Jaggi SUI. Will her dream come true, will she win the World Championship title in her own country?
Stimorol Engadinwind is the highest top event offering during 10 days everything your heart desires. The world's best windsurfers and kiters are travelling from all over the world to the Engadine in order to participate in this event. On August 13th over 300 athletes from 20 different nations like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, USA, Canada and Brazil start off to the Engadine Surf marathon. The major aspirants for the victory are besides the fastest windsurfing cracks Micah Buzianis USA and Finian Maynard, British Virgin Islands, the World Champion Antoine Albeau FRA and die Swiss talents Richard Stauffacher and Daniel Aberli. In the speed disciplines of the European Cup this stars compete against a dangerous favourite, the World Champion in Slalom, Micah Buzianis USA.
The Kiters show on August 13th and 14th breathtaking jumps up to vertiginous heights. For the winner of the qualifier event Red Bull Fly to the King of the Air is waiting a flight ticket to the big finals in Maui. Last year's winner Marc Ramseyer SUI will show all his best moves as well as long to win this ticket again. Further favourites for the coveted ticket are Daniel Rey SUI and the two local matadors Patrick Koller and Hanueli Winkler.
The event is going on on Wednesday with the highlights of the event, the IFCA Freestyle World Championships and the European Freestyle Pro Tour (EFPT). After about 20 years for the first time Windsurfing Championships are taking place in Switzerland again. The world's best Freestyle Windsurfers are to battle for the coveted trophy of the World Champion. Besides one of the important stages of the European Championship title is taking place in the Engadine. On the occasion of the EFPT amazing freestyle moves and turns will be celebrated on the highest level by athletes such as Kevin Mevissen NED (European Champion 2003), Matheo Guazzoni ITA (European Champion 2004) or the leader of the current tour Andre Paskowski GER. From the Swiss sight it is very pleasant that the entire freestyle windsurf elite will be to see in the Engadine. Shooting star Pesche Vogt, Swiss Champion Daniel Aberli, the young talent Florian Jauch and the new World Champion Karin Jaggi will participate in an international and highly professional starting field.
During the whole event the program on the water is to be completed by several acts in the event village as well as the already legendary parties. The Swiss freestyle skiing national team is going to present an amazing show on the trampoline in the event village as well as the world-best acropilots who are going to show their abilities. As another highlight of the event surely the Stimorol Engadinwind Party on the Corvatsch on August 20th has to be considered having already gained cult status. DJ's and special acts will transform the party night into an unforgettable happening where the crowd will be rocking with the world's best windsurfers until the break of dawn.
